An electrical fire broke out on Thursday morning at Vinicius Jr.’s home in La Moraleja, Alcobendas, starting in the basement sauna which was completely destroyed, with firefighters bringing the blaze under control after an emergency call at 11:00 a.m. and leaving by noon after the floor was filled with ventilation smoke.
There were no injuries, with Vinicius having been absent from Seoul with the Brazil national team along with teammates Éder Militão and Rodrygo for friendlies against South Korea on October 10 and Japan on October 14 under coach Carlo Ancelotti.
Initial investigations pointed to an electrical fault as the cause, with the forward, absent from September’s Sele ção call-up, aiming to impress and secure his place ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
