It’s been an incredibly emotional time for our family, and I know many of you are anxiously waiting for an update on Peter. The truth is, things have been difficult, but there is also so much to be grateful for. I’m filled with both pride and sorrow as I write this, but I wanted to share where we are now.

Peter’s surgery went well, and he now has the trach he needed. The doctors and nurses are taking excellent care of him, and he’s stable. Right now, he is heavily sedated and they plan to keep him that way until at least Saturday to help his body recover and heal. It’s so hard to see him like this, but I’m so incredibly proud of my boy. The anesthesiologist came by to tell us how well Peter did during the procedure and how amazing he was when they took him from us. They said we should be so proud of him, and I am.

My baby is a warrior.

Watching your child go through something so serious is one of the hardest things a parent can endure. I’m trying to stay strong, but the truth is—it’s incredibly hard. I’m sitting here, heartbroken, watching my child, the little boy who lights up my world, hooked up to machines, sedated, and fighting through so much. But even in this painful moment, I know Peter is brave. He’s faced everything head-on, just like he always does, with strength and courage that I can hardly put into words. I’m in awe of him every single day.

Today was a long day, filled with so many emotions, and it’s only the beginning of a long road ahead. There’s a lot that happened today, and I’m not ready to talk about all of it yet. The journey is just starting, and it’s overwhelming. But what I can say is that Peter is strong, and he’s surrounded by love and support every step of the way.

Logan and I are doing our best to be strong for Peter and for each other, but I won’t lie—it’s hard. It’s hard to watch our baby like this, unable to do anything but wait and hope. We know the road ahead is long, and there are so many challenges to come. But as difficult as this journey is, we are determined to be there for Peter through every step, every moment, and every struggle. We will keep fighting, just as Peter is, because we know that he’s worth it.

Peter is in the ICU at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, in room 6-137. If anyone feels moved to send him something—a little animal, a balloon, or anything to brighten his day—it would mean the world to us. He’s such a brave boy, and he deserves all the love and light we can send his way.

As I sit here, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the doctors, nurses, and all the people who are taking care of Peter. But most of all, I’m incredibly proud of my son. He is a fighter. He is amazing. He is my hero.

Please keep Peter in your prayers. We still have a long way to go, but I know with your love and support, we can get through this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the messages, the kind words, and the prayers. They mean more to us than you could ever know. We are so grateful to have such a strong, loving community around us.

We will keep fighting for Peter, and we’ll keep hoping for a brighter tomorrow. 💙
