Childhood should be a time of laughter, playdates, school projects, and endless curiosity. For Kade, life took a very different path. In September 2020, when he was just beginning to explore the joys of childhood, he received a diagnosis that would change everything:
acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
For Kade and his family, the world suddenly became a maze of hospitals, doctors, treatments, and hope — all intertwined with fear. What began as a normal day soon became the start of a journey that would test their courage, patience, and resilience in ways they had never imagined.

The First Battle: Enduring Treatment
Kade’s treatment was intense and relentless. Over the course of the following months, he endured more than 50 chemotherapy and radiation infusions, each one a difficult challenge for a small body. He had
eight spinal tap procedures, designed to deliver medicine directly to the central nervous system, each one uncomfortable and anxiety-inducing.
In addition, Kade received 120 injections to prevent blood clots
and countless other therapies that were essential for his survival. The days were long, often filled with pain, fatigue, and uncertainty. Hospital rooms replaced playgrounds. IV poles and monitors became familiar companions.
Yet through every procedure, Kade displayed an extraordinary strength that belied his age. He faced each treatment with determination, even when it was exhausting, frightening, or painful. His bravery inspired nurses, doctors, and his family alike. Every small victory — a smile after a procedure, a few steps walked in the hospital hallway, a day without nausea — became a milestone to celebrate.
Triumph and Temporary Relief
After two grueling years of treatment, Kade achieved what every family dreams of: he beat cancer. The day he received the news was a day of celebration, tears, and relief. His smile shone brighter than the sun, reflecting the immense courage he had displayed over countless procedures and hospital visits.
For Kade, life began to feel closer to what childhood should be: moments spent playing, laughing, and dreaming about the future. His family cherished every ordinary day, knowing how precious life truly was after the trials they had endured.
But childhood cancer is unpredictable. It does not always give permanent relief. For Kade and his family, hope was tempered by the knowledge that vigilance would always be necessary.
The Relapse: Facing Cancer Again
In 2024, just as Kade was settling into a life that felt more normal, the news came: he relapsed. The cancer had returned, and with it, the familiar fear, uncertainty, and grueling treatment schedule.
For many, relapse is devastating. For a child, it can be terrifying. But Kade approached it with the same strength, courage, and resilience he had displayed during his first battle. Despite the fear, he faced every procedure, infusion, and therapy with determination. His family, having already walked through the fire once, stood by his side, supporting him through each step, each day, and each challenge.
This relapse reminded everyone that the fight against childhood cancer is ongoing. It is a journey with unexpected obstacles, requiring not only treatment but hope, advocacy, and community support.
A Fighter’s Spirit

What makes Kade truly remarkable is not just his medical history, but his spirit. Despite everything he has endured — over 50 infusions, eight spinal taps, hundreds of injections, and countless hours in hospitals — Kade remains courageous. He maintains a sense of hope that inspires everyone around him.
Even on the hardest days, he can laugh, play, and dream. His bravery is contagious, reminding nurses, doctors, and families of the incredible resilience of children facing life-threatening illness. Kade is a symbol of strength — proof that even in the most challenging circumstances, the human spirit can endure and shine.
