A Tiny Warrior With a Giant Heart: Remembering the Miracles, Tears, and Triumphs on World Prematurity Day. h

Today, as we observe World Prematurity Day, I can’t help but reflect on the most amazing and humbling journey of my life: being your mom, my little champion. When you were born, you weighed just

1 pound and 12 ounces, and now, to see you healthy, strong, and weighing 30 pounds, I’m in awe of how far you’ve come. You are a living, breathing miracle, and I feel so incredibly blessed to witness your growth, not only outside of my belly but also into the vibrant, joyful child you are today.

This journey has been nothing short of life-changing for me. The moment I found out I was pregnant with you, I never imagined the hurdles we would face together. The uncertainty of those early days when I wasn’t sure if you would make it through, the countless prayers, and the love that carried us through—it has all shaped me in ways that words can’t fully describe. There were moments when it felt impossible, when I was scared, but through it all, I held onto the belief that God had a plan for you—and He proved that every step of the way.

The journey started with so much uncertainty. You were born prematurely, and the doctors warned us that there would be challenges, but you were a fighter from the very start. I remember the first time I saw you, so tiny and fragile, hooked up to all the machines in the NICU. It was overwhelming, and yet, in your little face, I saw strength. Every day, you fought to stay with us, and I fought right alongside you. The first few weeks were filled with so many ups and downs, but through it all, you kept showing us just how strong you were. Your fight was inspiring, and my love for you grew deeper with every passing day.

We were in the hospital for only two months before you came home, and those two months felt like a lifetime. Every second of those days felt like a prayer, a hope, and a longing for you to be strong enough to leave the hospital and come home. But even then, when we were still adjusting to life outside the NICU, I never stopped believing that we would thrive, together. The moment you came home, I knew we had already won the hardest battle.

Since coming home, it’s been nothing short of a miracle how you’ve thrived. The growth you’ve shown, both physically and emotionally, has been beyond anything I could have hoped for. Watching you gain weight, move around, laugh, play, and even demand attention like the little sassy kid you are has been such a beautiful experience. Every milestone, every giggle, every step, and every word you say is a testament to your strength and resilience. We’ve come so far together, and there’s nothing that makes me prouder than to watch you grow stronger with each day.

You’ve faced more in your first year than most people will face in a lifetime, and yet you remain the happiest, most loving child. You are so full of life and joy, and you bring light into every room you enter. You remind me every day that life is a gift, no matter how challenging it can be. Your ability to smile, laugh, and even be sassy despite everything you’ve been through has taught me so much about strength, faith, and perseverance.

As a mother, I have been changed by this experience in ways I never expected. Being your mom has opened my eyes to the true meaning of love, sacrifice, and faith. Watching you fight for your life every day has made me appreciate life’s little moments so much more. I no longer take for granted the things I used to—like a full night’s sleep or a quiet moment—because I know how precious every moment with you is. You have given me a new perspective on life, one that is filled with gratitude and love.

Every day with you has been a blessing, and I’m beyond thankful that I get to call you my child. You are my champion, my miracle, and my joy. The doctors said so many things about the challenges you would face, but I’ve learned that

God is REAL and He has been with us every step of the way. Your life, your health, and your journey are proof of the power of prayer, hope, and the amazing love that surrounds us.

The glory belongs to Jesus, and I know that every part of your story is a testament to His power and grace.

This experience has changed my life in so many ways. It’s not just about how far you’ve come physically, though that is miraculous enough. It’s about the love, strength, and faith that has been woven into every step of your journey. The fact that we’re here today, celebrating your strength and growth, is a gift beyond measure. I am so proud to be your mommy.

Today, as we celebrate World Prematurity Day, I’m filled with so much gratitude. I brag about you every chance I get, not just because of how much you’ve grown or how strong you’ve become, but because of the incredible light you bring into this world. You have a power in you that I can’t quite put into words, but I see it in the way you smile through every hardship and how you bring joy to everyone you meet.

I brag different, because you are different—you are a living miracle, a true testament to the strength of the human spirit.

I love you more than words can express, stinka. You are my pride, my joy, and my constant reminder that miracles are real. I can’t wait to see where life takes you next, because I know you’re going to keep surprising the world. Here’s to the many more years of laughter, joy, and triumphs ahead. 💪🏾🥳🙌🏾
