The life we knew disappeared, replaced by hospital rooms, tests, and a terrifying uncertainty about whether our little boy would survive. Since that day, every heartbeat, every breath has been a fight for him—and we are asking for your help to continue this battle.
Mateusz was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, one of the most aggressive cancers in children. It struck without warning, without mercy. We were completely unprepared. We didn’t know what lay ahead, and we certainly didn’t understand the realities of pediatric oncology. Now, after two years of relentless treatment, sleepless nights, and countless battles, we know all too well: it is a place of struggle, despair, and courage beyond measure.
Night after night, we listened to the constant drip of IVs, the hum of machines, and our son’s cries. We watched his tiny body endure pain we cannot even describe, and we felt the weight of helplessness, fear, and heartbreak. Every parent of a child in that ward understands the terror of wondering whether their little one will survive, and every lost battle leaves scars that words cannot capture. But we refused to give up on Mateusz.
Our family remained united through every step of this journey—the four of us, including Mateusz’s younger brother. We clung to one another, treasuring each moment together, knowing that every day might be a gift beyond measure.
After his tumor was surgically removed, Mateusz faced new challenges: cerebellar syndrome. He lost the ability to walk, to speak, to move his arms. His tiny body could breathe and swallow, but he required constant care, 24 hours a day, just to survive. Every simple act became a monumental effort for him, and a trial of endurance for us as parents.
Since January 2023, each day has been a battle—not only against cancer but also for Mateusz’s recovery. Chemotherapy, rehabilitation, and endless monitoring became our routine. Despite completing the prescribed treatment protocol, he ended up in intensive care afterward, his body exhausted and fragile. We often wondered if he could continue—but somehow, against all odds, our brave boy survived. Truly, he is nothing short of a miracle.
Mateusz’s fight is far from over. Even as he makes progress through exercises that improve his neurological and motor skills, he still cannot move independently. He requires constant support and rehabilitation. Doctors from foreign clinics have offered additional treatments that could help prevent the tumor’s return, treatments that are unfortunately not reimbursed. We are determined to seize this opportunity, to move heaven and earth if necessary, to ensure this cruel disease never returns to our son.
The financial burden, however, is enormous. Every therapy, every session, every specialist’s care costs far more than we can afford alone. But we refuse to let this stop Mateusz from regaining his life. Our dream is simple but profound: for Mateusz to walk freely again, to run and play with his younger brother, to laugh, to be a child again. We believe it is possible—but we need your help.
