Aniela’s Journey: A Story of Strength, Struggle, and Hope. 👼

My name is Aniela, and my story began with a fear and uncertainty that no child should ever face. Born prematurely at just 30 weeks, weighing barely over one kilogram, I entered the world amidst chaos, with doctors desperately working to keep me alive. My twin brother was healthy, but for me, life was a fight from the very beginning. My lungs weren’t strong enough to breathe on their own, and my body was too small to survive without help. My journey began with the sharp, desperate sound of medical equipment, the beeping of machines, and an overwhelming sense of loneliness.

It all started with complications in the placenta, which forced my mother into an emergency situation. The urgency was palpable, and time seemed to stretch, with every second feeling like an eternity. I was rushed to the operating room, and my twin brother was pulled out first. Meanwhile, I fought for my first breath, trapped in the darkness, alone, and struggling. My tiny body was weak, and I was given a ventilator and placed in an incubator. I couldn’t feed myself, couldn’t breathe without assistance, and as much as I wanted to feel the comfort of my mother’s arms, I was alone, isolated in a world full of machines and beeping alarms.

The first few days were filled with procedures, blood transfusions, and surgeries just to keep me alive. The doctors didn’t give up on me, even when it seemed like every day brought more complications. First, there were multiple blood transfusions to stabilize me. I was in pain, but the doctors had no choice. It was either risk everything or face losing me. And they chose to fight.

But the struggles didn’t end there. I developed necrotizing enterocolitis, a severe condition that required urgent surgery to save my life. My tiny body was already fragile, and this only added to the overwhelming challenge. The days turned into weeks as I battled through one complication after another. I spent months in the hospital, surrounded by machines, not knowing what the future held. The pain was unimaginable, but I kept fighting, even when it felt like there was no way out.

As if the physical challenges weren’t enough, I was also diagnosed with multiple health conditions that would impact my life forever. A heart defect, autism, severe vision impairment, food intolerance, and significant developmental disabilities. I can’t speak, I can’t crawl, and I can’t experience the world the way other children can. The simple things that many take for granted, like running, playing, or even speaking, are things I can only dream of.

Despite these hurdles, I am determined to overcome them. I look at my twin brother, and I see the life I wish I could live—the life I’m fighting for every single day. I want to hold his hand, I want to run and jump like he does, and I want to experience the world as a healthy child. But I know that to do this, I need intensive therapy and rehabilitation. I need specialized care to help me develop and catch up to where I should be. Unfortunately, the care I need is costly, and my family can’t afford it.

My mother is doing everything she can, but it’s been incredibly hard. My father couldn’t handle the stress and left, so my mother is left to shoulder all of the responsibilities alone. She’s doing her best, but we need help. The support we receive from the National Health Fund is limited, and we cannot rely solely on it. The reality is that without financial support, my chances of recovery and gaining some independence are slim.

This is where kind-hearted people like you come in. I’m reaching out to ask for your help, as I have no one else to turn to. Your donations, no matter how small, can provide the treatment and care I desperately need. Every donation helps me get one step closer to the life I deserve. I want to experience the joy of childhood—running, playing, laughing, and growing. I want to see the world through healthy eyes and speak to the people I love. But I can’t do this alone. I need your help.

Please, don’t look away. Your generosity can make all the difference in my life. With your support, I can get the care I need to thrive. I dream of a life where I’m not held back by the challenges I face, where I can live as any child should. Every day, I fight for that life, and with your help, I know I can achieve it.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Your support, kindness, and generosity mean everything to me and my family. I am fighting every day to get better, and with your help, I can continue this fight and one day live the life I dream of.
