The image captured in the middle of the night brought millions of people to tears: a baby elephant lying motionless in the middle of the road, while the mother elephant stood next to it, continuously using her trembling trunk to touch the small body as if praying for a miracle to happen. Next to her, a rescue worker was urgently performing first aid measures in the flickering yellow light.
According to witnesses, the incident happened when the herd of elephants crossed the road to find food. Unfortunately, the baby elephant was hit by a car, causing the whole herd to panic. The mother elephant immediately turned around, using her body to shield her baby from the oncoming traffic, making the scene extremely heartbreaking.
