Our sweet baby boy, Knox, is truly a miracle. His arrival was anything but easy, and from the moment he was born, his life has been a constant fight.

Born prematurely with a complicated delivery, Knox was immediately resuscitated after being born unresponsive. He spent the first month of his life in the NICU, struggling to breathe, grow, and survive. The fear and uncertainty of those early days are memories we’ll never forget, and yet, despite the odds, our little warrior has shown us the true meaning of strength.
Knox’s challenges didn’t stop with his birth. During delivery, Knox suffered from shoulder dystocia, which caused a severe nerve injury called brachial plexus palsy. This left him with little to no movement in his left arm. After months of physical therapy, it became clear that surgery was necessary to repair the damaged nerves. Without surgery, Knox risks permanent loss of function in his arm. The road ahead is difficult, but we are determined to do everything we can to give him the chance he deserves to thrive.

Along with the brachial plexus injury, Knox developed torticollis, a condition affecting the muscles in his neck due to the trauma he experienced at birth. On top of that, Knox has struggled with feeding difficulties because of dysphagia, requiring a G-tube to ensure he receives proper nutrition. It’s been an overwhelming journey, and yet, through it all, Knox’s strength and resilience shine brighter than we could have ever imagined.
To help Knox develop and reach his milestones, he has been attending regular physical therapy, occupational therapy, and feeding therapy. These therapies are vital for improving his strength, mobility, and feeding abilities, but they are also crucial for giving him the best chance to live a full and active life. Despite the challenges, we hold onto hope that Knox will continue to grow stronger with every day.

However, the journey doesn’t end there. The specialized surgery Knox needs to repair his brachial plexus injury is not available in Hawaii, so our family will be traveling to the mainland in August to have the procedure performed by a team of experts in this area. This surgery is critical for Knox’s future, but it comes with significant financial strain. Along with the initial surgery, we will need to travel back and forth for follow-up appointments and ongoing care. This means additional expenses for travel, lodging, meals, and missed work, which are adding up quickly. The ongoing medical bills for Knox’s treatments, therapies, and G-tube care are also piling up.
As a family, we’ve done everything we can to stay afloat, but the financial burden is overwhelming. Before Knox’s condition worsened, I was working full-time to support our household. But with the constant hospital visits, therapies, and the need to care for Knox, I made the decision to step down from my job to focus on him. This decision, while necessary, has meant a significant loss of income, making it even harder to manage everyday expenses and the growing medical costs.

We are reaching out to our community—our family, friends, and even kind-hearted strangers—for support. Any donation, no matter how big or small, will go directly toward covering the expenses related to Knox’s surgery and treatment. This includes travel costs, lodging, meals, and the continued medical care that Knox will need as he grows. Your generosity will help ease the financial burden, allowing us to focus on what truly matters: being present for Knox and supporting his recovery.
We also ask for your prayers. As we navigate this difficult journey, we remain grateful for the outpouring of love and support we’ve already received. We have faith in God’s plan for Knox and trust that He will continue to watch over our little boy, guiding him on his journey toward healing. As the scripture says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11.

We are incredibly blessed to be Knox’s parents, and we continue to marvel at his strength and determination. Though the road ahead is still long, we are confident that, with your help, we can give Knox the best chance at a healthy, happy life. Your support, whether through donations or prayers, means the world to us.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and kindness. Your help will allow us to focus on what matters most—Knox’s recovery and his bright future. Together, we can help Knox overcome the challenges ahead and give him the love, care, and opportunities he deserves.
