Wyatt Brenner’s journey began as a miracle — one that defied every expectation and shattered the odds. Born at just one pound, eight ounces, he entered the world as a tiny preemie, far too small to survive in a world that was too big for him.
His fragile little body struggled against the immense challenges of premature birth, and the road ahead seemed impossible. But Wyatt, with the love of his family and the unwavering support of a dedicated medical team, would go on to defy all odds and become the thriving toddler he is today..

Wyatt’s arrival was anything but easy. His birth was complicated, and the moments after he entered the world were filled with uncertainty. Internal bleeding, an abscess in his stomach, and a perforated intestine left him fighting for his life.
As his parents, Jessica and her husband, watched helplessly, they knew that their son would need immediate, specialized care. Wyatt was transported to a NICU over an hour away for surgery, and the family’s lives were forever changed.
The next 113 days in the NICU would be a test of strength, resilience, and faith. Wyatt’s survival seemed impossible, but every day, he fought harder than anyone could have expected.
With the help of an incredible medical team, Wyatt started to grow and heal. The road was long and filled with setbacks, but Wyatt was a fighter. Jessica, who stayed by his side as much as possible, describes the NICU experience as both isolating and beautiful.

“It was the biggest blessing to be at St. Francis in Tulsa because it was the best of the best NICU team,” Jessica shared. “From the security guards at the front desk to the janitorial staff, cafeteria, respiratory therapists, specialty staff of surgeons, GI teams, and (saving the best for last) the nurses and neonatologists, it was all God. It was isolating at times but also like we were living in a whole different world with primary nurses and medical teams that became family.”
While the time spent in the NICU was incredibly difficult, Jessica found solace in the support she received. The Ronald McDonald House in Tulsa became a home away from home, providing her with a place to stay, a community kitchen, and a living area that helped her stay close to her son while dealing with the emotional and physical toll of the situation.
The community of friends, volunteers, and strangers who came forward to support the Brenner family was a beacon of light in the darkest of times. From financial gifts to daily prayers, Jessica felt surrounded by love.

“The Ronald McDonald House will forever be one of our greatest blessings; they provided a bedroom with a bathroom and shower and a community kitchen and living area. It was a home away from home in the scariest season of our lives,” Jessica explained. “We also had friends step up and take care of our dogs and home. We had financial gifts for bills and food while in the hospital. We had prayer warriors daily praying for Wyatt.”
Despite the constant medical hurdles and the uncertainty that hung over every moment, Jessica’s faith and love for Wyatt carried her through. And just two weeks before the world was plunged into the chaos of the COVID-19 lockdowns, Wyatt’s NICU journey came to an end. While the timing was difficult, Jessica expressed gratitude that her family was able to return home and begin their healing process together.

Now, two and a half years later, Wyatt is a vibrant, thriving toddler. His journey hasn’t been easy, and there are still challenges, but his growth and progress are nothing short of miraculous. “Wyatt is walking and talking.
He goes to a 3-year-old program at a local Christian school and is learning new things every day!” Jessica shared with pride. “He goes to physical therapy and occupational therapy weekly and will start speech therapy back again soon!
He is joy and sunshine! He is the happiest boy; he doesn’t meet a stranger and will wave at everyone. He loves people and has a smile that could break the hardest shell of a person! God has big plans for this boy.”
Despite the medical battles Wyatt faced early in life, he has blossomed into a joyful, social, and curious little boy. His parents marvel at his strength and perseverance, knowing that his story is one of hope, love, and triumph. Wyatt’s resilience is a constant reminder that even in the most difficult times, there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

The Brenner family’s journey is proof that miracles do happen, even in the most challenging circumstances. With love, support, and faith, they were able to overcome the impossible and give Wyatt the chance at life that he so richly deserves.
As they watch him grow, they are reminded every day that the road may be long, but with determination and love, nothing is impossible.
Wyatt’s story is a testament to the power of love, the strength of a family, and the incredible miracles that can unfold when we believe in the power of hope. Every laugh, every milestone, and every moment with Wyatt is a victory, and his family is filled with gratitude for the miracle that is their son.
Please keep Wyatt and his family in your prayers as they continue their journey. Let his story be a reminder that even the smallest warriors can achieve the greatest victories.
Benja’s First Breath: A Miracle of Strength, Love, and Hope1054

Day Ten. A day that would forever mark a shift in the journey of little Benja. What had begun as a period of fear, uncertainty, and endless nights of hospital stays, took an unexpected turn — one that would change everything for his family.
For ten long days, Benja’s parents had lived in a world where every breath, every moment was filled with tension. Benja, their tiny baby, was hooked up to machines that kept him alive. The sounds of the respirator, the beeping of vital monitors, and the soft whispers of prayers surrounded them constantly. His little body, so fragile, seemed so far from the joy and vitality a child should have. He had been born too soon, fighting against challenges no newborn should ever face. Yet, through it all, there was a glimmer of hope — the hope that one day he would breathe on his own, that one day he would have the strength to fight this battle.

Every day had been a struggle for Benja. His parents, watching their son fight with all he had, held on to the smallest victories — each sign that he was getting a little stronger, each time his tiny chest rose and fell with the help of the machines. It was a bittersweet existence, holding on to hope while watching him endure so much. His parents felt every beat of their own hearts as if it was synchronized with Benja’s, a constant reminder of their love for him and the hope they desperately held onto.
But on Day Ten, everything shifted.
The doctors and nurses had been closely monitoring Benja’s condition, trying to assess whether his lungs were strong enough to function on their own. They decided it was time to remove the respirator. The uncertainty in the room was palpable as his parents held their breath, anxiously watching the medical team carefully adjust the equipment.
And then, in the most precious moment of all, Benja did something that changed everything.

He took his first breath on his own.
For the first time in ten days, his tiny chest rose and fell without the help of the machines. The sound of his own breath — a simple, yet powerful sound — filled the room, breaking the silence that had hung over them for so long. His parents stared at him in disbelief. This small moment, so simple, yet so monumental, felt like the world had paused just for them.
It was as though time had slowed, and for a brief second, the weight of fear and uncertainty lifted from their shoulders. They had been holding their breath, waiting for this moment, and when Benja took that first breath, it felt like the world exhaled with him. The air seemed lighter, filled with the promise of hope, and for the first time in days, they allowed themselves to smile. Tears streamed down their faces — not from fear, but from overwhelming love, pride, and awe.
Benja, so small, so fragile, had done it. He had faced the impossible and found the strength to breathe on his own. His tiny body, so vulnerable, had proven that there was power in the smallest of things. His strength, in that moment, surpassed anything his parents had ever known.

Though Benja’s journey was far from over, this moment marked a turning point. It was a moment where hope was reborn. Every parent’s worst fear — the fear of losing a child — had been pushed back, if only for a moment, by a simple breath of life. It was a miracle that Benja’s body, so fragile, could hold so much strength, and that strength had brought with it a wave of relief for his family.
Benja’s parents held him close, not just in their arms but in their hearts, knowing that every moment with him, no matter how small, was a victory. They knew the road ahead would still be long. There would still be many challenges to face, and Benja’s health would need constant care. But this was a moment of triumph. This was a moment they would carry with them forever — the moment their son breathed again.

As they looked down at their tiny miracle, they realized that his breath was more than just a sign of life; it was a symbol of everything he had already overcome. Every little breath Benja took from that point on would be a testament to his fight, his resilience, and the unwavering love of his family.
In those quiet moments following Benja’s first breath, his family knew that no matter what came next, they had witnessed something extraordinary — a miracle in the making. Benja, despite all odds, was proving to the world that even the smallest warrior could make the greatest impact. And though the road ahead would still have its hurdles, this moment would always be a reminder of the power of love, hope, and the incredible strength that can come from even the tiniest of beings.
