“With Gentle Smiles and Bravely Beating Hearts, Harper Grace’s Journey Continues — A Powerful Reminder to Cherish Every Moment of Home, Healing, and Hope”. h

The journey of a child undergoing cancer treatment is never linear. There are highs and lows, moments of hope and setbacks, and challenges that seem insurmountable. But in the face of these obstacles, the strength of a family—and of a little girl like Harper Grace—shines through. Today, we share an update on Harper’s journey, a story filled with both gratitude and anticipation, as we hold onto every moment of joy and hope.

Originally, we were scheduled to return to Birmingham Children’s Hospital on Monday, the 10th, to begin Cycle 4 of Harper’s chemotherapy. But as is often the case in this unpredictable journey, things didn’t go as planned. Our wonderful community nurse came out on Sunday to take Harper’s bloods and assess whether her levels were high enough to resume treatment. The results showed that Harper’s levels were still too low to safely restart chemotherapy, meaning we had to delay her treatment. While it was disappointing, we know that delays like this are a normal part of the process, and though it can feel like yet another emotional rollercoaster, it has brought something truly special: more time at home.

How I feel about it being Friday! Even though I have zero ...

And we have soaked up every single second of it.

Being at home has been nothing short of a blessing for all of us. For Harper, it’s brought back the essence of who she is—the cheeky smiles, the infectious giggles, the funny little noises, and the mischievous chatter. She’s slotted right back into home life as if nothing had changed, and it has been a breath of fresh air for our family. These moments of joy—her cuddles, her laughter—are a stark contrast to the harsh reality that waits outside our front door. For a few precious days, we’ve been able to forget, just for a little while, the weight of what we’re facing, and simply enjoy the magic of being together.

However, we know the road ahead. Harper’s blood levels need to rise over the next couple of days, and we’re hopeful that we can resume treatment by Thursday. But, as always, we are taking it day by day. There’s a certain peace in this uncertainty—because while we prepare for the next step, we’re holding onto the beauty of these days at home, cherishing the normalcy they bring. This week will likely involve blood and platelet transfusions to prepare Harper for Cycle 4, and though we’re ready for the next step, we’re savoring these moments at home with full hearts.

Amidst the uncertainty, something incredible happened that has given us the strength to keep moving forward. The Chase Golf & Country Club hosted a charity golf day for Harper, organized by the kind-hearted Dan Davis, Matt Southwell, and the amazing members of the club. Thanks to the generosity of those involved, they raised over £4,000 for Harper and our family. This overwhelming show of support has left us speechless. There are truly no words to express how deeply grateful we are for the kindness, love, and generosity shown to us that day. The money raised will help us manage the many challenges ahead, but it’s the emotional support that has meant the most.

From the players to the donors, to the organizers and everyone who showed up to offer their love and support—we felt it all. In moments like these, when life feels overwhelming, it’s the outpouring of kindness from others that keeps us going. We are so humbled by this act of love and support, and it reminds us that we are not alone in this fight.

The support from our community, from my workplace, and from every person who has reached out to us during this time has been a lifeline. Every message, every gesture, no matter how small, has helped us stay strong, even when the days feel long and the road ahead seems uncertain. These moments—these smiles, these acts of kindness—are what keep us going. They remind us that there is goodness in the world, and that no matter what happens, we are surrounded by people who care deeply for Harper and our family.

One day at a time. One step at a time. And always with Harper leading the way.

As we prepare to face the challenges of the coming week, we do so with hope in our hearts. We know the journey isn’t easy, and we know there will be more difficult days ahead. But as long as we have moments like this—Harper’s smiles, her giggles, and the love and support from those around us—we will continue to fight. And we will continue to cherish every moment we have with our beautiful, brave Harper Grace.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far—whether through prayers, kind words, donations, or simply showing up to share in this journey. Your love and kindness mean the world to us, and we are beyond grateful. Please continue to keep Harper in your thoughts and prayers as we move forward, step by step, with her leading the way. 💛
